Kitesurfing and Wingfoil School in Hurghada: Learn to Kite in Egypt

Ideal conditions for kiting - wind, sun, sand, not far to get to, not expensive. All this is in our kite school in Egypt

Since 2012, our kite school has been permanently based in Hurghada, located in one of the best areas for kitesurfing on the Red Sea.

Our instructors are certified by the International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO) and have over 15 years of experience. This ensures you receive safe and professional training. By the way, for experienced riders, we also organize kite safaris. The level of our instructors is the maximum possible – IKO Assistant Trainers (qualified to organize courses for training new kite instructors).

Languages: We conduct kitesurfing courses in English, Arabic, Russian, and Ukrainian. We highly recommend that, if you have some knowledge of English, you take part of the lessons in English to become familiar with international terminology.

How We Teach Kitesurfing at Our School in Egypt

All our training is based exclusively on IKO standards. People are different: some can ride after just 6 hours of kite lessons, while others may only just begin to understand kite control by then.

This is absolutely normal, and there is nothing to worry about. Like any sport, some learn faster, others a bit slower. However, if you set realistic goals and don't burn out "psychologically," absolutely everyone achieves success and learns to ride.

The most common and optimal course duration is 11-13 hours.

Is kitesurfing physically difficult? No. Generally, if you get physically tired, it means you are doing something incorrectly—tensing your muscles, fighting the kite, which leads to fatigue. The main part of the body that gets tired is the head. As soon as you learn to relax rather than tense up, everything will go much easier, both psychologically and physically.

Where Our Kite School is Located in Egypt

We conduct kitesurfing training in Egypt at the Paradise Kitesurfing station. If you would like to take a course specifically with us, please contact us in advance. Upon arrival at the spot, ask for an employee of OleKite specifically (there are several different schools operating at the station). We also run IKO Instructor Training Courses (ITC).

As you can see on the map, the kite school is in an ideal location: plenty of space, perfect wind directions, sandy bottom, and excellent wind characteristics.

If you are staying far from us, you can always reach us by Uber taxi. The cost is approximately 2-3 Euros one way. To call an Uber, you will need the international app on your phone.

What to bring for kitesurfing or wingfoil training?

  • Of course, the most important thing is a great mood.
  • In November-April, it is better to bring a long wetsuit (3-4 mm). In September-October and May, a short one (2-3 mm). In summer, no wetsuit is needed. Wetsuits are available for rent, but it is better to have your own.
  • A rash guard (Lycra) will help you ride comfortably and prevent sunburn.
  • If you are a student, water shoes (aqua shoes/reef boots) are a "must-have".
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a buff (neck gaiter).
  • Sports medical insurance marked "kitesurfing".

How to get to the kite school?

The easiest way is via taxi services like Indrive or Uber. The cost one way is about 2.5-3 dollars. We recommend using Indrive.

How long are the kitesurfing lessons per day?

Lessons last until the student begins to get tired. All lessons, except for 40 minutes of theory, take place in the water with an instructor.

Usually, men train for 2-3 hours, and women for 1-2 hours. After a rest, you can go out on the water again.
